Account Executive Commercial Lines
Purpose
- Establish and maintain producer confidence
- Individual performance and team work contribution to achieve maximum unit productivity without errors and omissions
Essential Job Functions
Customer Service
- Handle phone calls, respond in a timely manner to insureds/companies/in-house requests or questions
- Compose correspondence and required response to client, company, etc.
- Activity (suspense) documentation and follow-up
- Monitor endorsement requests, receipt and accuracy
- Personal visits with client at insured’s place of business or Eagan office
Account Management
- All functions necessary to provide exceptional customer service and account retention
- Complete applications for new and renewal accounts; advise producer of any missing items or possible enhancements available
- Keep expiration list current; accountability for renewals
- Prepare loss summaries
- Prepare new and renewal submissions for marketing
- Negotiate with underwriters and brokers on coverage and pricing
- Market certain new and renewal accounts
- Premium rating; experience modification
- Prepare finance agreements
- Handle requests for specialized certificates of insurance
- Prepare new and renewal proposals
- Flood rating and quotes
- Handle technical or complex questions or problems with insured
- Check policies and put together for delivery
- Check Accounts Receivable listings and collect premiums when necessary
- Troubleshooting, quality control, E&O protection
- Assist CSR with additional training, questions, problems; oversee workflow
Other Duties
- Review contracts for insureds as required
- Assist Producer in gathering coverage information for renewals
- Visit select insureds
- Maintain selected accounts without Producer assistance
- Answer coverage questions, suggest alternatives
- Calculate premium allocations for insureds with multiple locations
- Promote positive image of agency with personal attitude and job commitment
- Maintain professionalism in communication and negotiation
- Quality control and prevention of agency E&O
- Backup other units as needed; absorb CSR duties when necessary
Above and Beyond
- Arrange specialized coverage extensions as required by contract
- Service any customer’s needs regardless of department, when required
Credentials/Training
- Requires Commercial Lines Insurance Solicitor’s license
- Enrollment in education program
- Must maintain license through continuing education

Equipment/Software
- Computer literacy
- AMS proficient
- Basic knowledge word processing (MS Word) and MS Excel
Working Conditions
- Quiet space because of heavy phone activity
